Bentley Fills the Gap with the New Continental GT S

Bentley has never shied away from offering choice. The fourth-generation Continental GT lineup was beginning to feel overwhelming, even by Crewe standards.

V8 hybrid models came in two power levels, alongside a full-fat Speed, an upcoming Supersports halo, and both coupe and convertible bodystyles. Trim options alone could keep you busy for hours in the configurator. Yet one familiar badge was missing—until now.

Bentley has brought it back: the new Continental GT S, which might just be the sweet spot of the range.

Performance at Its Core

The Continental GT S pairs Bentley’s 680 hp 4.0-litre V8 hybrid with chassis hardware previously reserved for the top-tier models.

This includes an electronic limited-slip differential, four-wheel steering, torque vectoring across both axles, and the latest ESC software—all standard.

Bentley’s Performance Active Chassis is also fitted. Twin-valve dampers keep the nearly 2.5-tonne Grand Tourer disciplined without compromising comfort.

Unlike the rear-drive-only Supersports, the GT S keeps four-wheel drive. Bentley says the switchable ESC allows drivers to balance the car on the throttle for a more engaging experience.

The 680 hp powertrain itself is mechanically unchanged. A sports exhaust, however, highlights the V8’s crossplane character. Acceleration is strong: 0–62mph takes 3.5 seconds, top speed reaches 190mph, and up to 50 miles of electric-only range remain available.

Striking Design Details

The GT S stands out with a Blackline specification, dark-tinted lighting featuring Bentley’s Precision detailing, bespoke 22-inch wheels, and a distinctive rear diffuser.

Inside, it features a unique two-tone upholstery layout, a suede-trimmed steering wheel, and Piano Black finishes. Buyers can steer it toward understated elegance or a more extroverted style thanks to Bentley’s nearly limitless customization options.

Positioning in the Line-Up

Pricing and on-sale dates haven’t been confirmed, but the GT S slots neatly between the standard 680 hp Continental GT and the flagship Speed.

With the Supersports not arriving until 2027, this model is a strategically timed addition. It caters to drivers seeking a sharper edge without stepping all the way up to Bentley’s most extreme GT.
