BMW Alpina has unveiled a fresh identity as it prepares for life as a standalone marque within the BMW Group.
The revised badge keeps its signature mechanical motifs but drops the familiar red-and-blue shield for a cleaner navy and white finish.
BMW acquired Alpina in 2022, ending decades of independence for the Buchloe-based tuner.
Last year, the firm confirmed it would relaunch as BMW Alpina, operating as a distinct brand alongside BMW and MINI. Now, the first visible step in that transition has arrived.
The updated roundel still features the throttle body and crankshaft that have defined Alpina models for generations, though the typography is bolder and more contemporary.
Future BMW Alpina models will continue to be built in selected BMW Group factories, which are being upgraded to meet Alpina’s production standards.
While described as “standalone automobiles”, expect them to remain closely linked to existing BMW platforms.

As before, the formula centres on discreet performance and long-distance comfort rather than the sharper, track-focused character of BMW M cars.
Alpina promises its trademark blend of high-output powertrains and supple ride quality, positioning the brand closer to Mercedes-Maybach than AMG.
Superior quality leather will be standard, alongside extensive bespoke options and a broadened exterior colour palette.
The classic 20-spoke wheels also survive the rebrand, a reassuring nod to heritage. More details on UK-bound models are expected later this year.
