G-Power BMW M2 Hits 700hp With S58 Tune

The G-Power BMW M2 with 700 horses is here, turning Munich’s smallest M car into a serious super-saloon contender.

Under the hood is BMW’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo S58 straight-six, which already puts out 480hp in the regular M2. G-Power’s tweaks boost that to a massive 700hp, plus a hefty 620lb ft of torque.

This power boost comes from their own ECU unlock and software calibration, along with a carbon intake, sport downpipes, and a new rear silencer.

They’ve also updated the gearbox software and raised the top speed. The German tuner says these changes also sharpen the throttle and even helps save gas. It’s quite a claim, considering how much extra power they’ve added.

The S58 is known as a very tune-friendly engine, with a lot of potential built into its turbo setup. Adding 220hp to a fast, rear-wheel-drive coupe is still impressive.

When it comes to speed in a straight line, this M2 is getting close to M5 numbers, but in a smaller package.

As for looks, G-Power is offering their usual carbon fiber bits. The GP-Venturi hood, which goes for €6,000, has vents that supposedly help with cooling and reduce weight at the front.

Wider 285-section front tires sit under Hurricane RR wheels, and you can also get a €3,300 carbon rear spoiler and a €1,000 orange carbon engine cover.

The whole powertrain conversion costs €18,500, or about £16,000, which is close to the price difference between a used 480hp M2 and a brand-new one in the UK.
