Mini celebrates Monte Carlo glory with 1965 Victory Edition

Mini is celebrating one of its famous rally wins with the new 1965 Victory Edition. It’s a nod to Timo Mäkinen and Paul Easter’s victory at the Monte Carlo Rally.

This edition comes out quite a while after the 60th anniversary, but it sure does make a splash!

The 1965 Victory Edition is available for the current Cooper models: the 204hp Cooper S, the 231hp JCW, and the 258hp JCW Electric.

It’s more of a stylish tribute than a full-blown rally car. It mixes racing History with everyday practicality. The main color is Chili Red, with white stripes and the number ’52’ from Mäkinen and Easter’s car.

You’ll also spot ‘1965’ markings on the C-pillar, door sill, steering wheel, and center console. The key even matches the car’s design, and the door panels pay tribute to the Monte Carlo Mini and its drivers.

Inside, Mini adds little things for fans, such as fabric details on the steering wheel and matching interior accents.

People can pick between the usual panoramic roof or a different ‘Glaced’ option, meant to look good with the bright exterior.

Although not all gas-powered Minis will be sold in the UK, this announcement is a cool reminder of the brand’s rally days and a good one for collectors.

With the European release in July, UK fans will be paying attention. Even if this edition doesn’t arrive there, the UK still loves Mini special editions.

Models like the World Championship 50, Challenge, and 25th Anniversary convertibles still get people excited.

And now that the New Mini is hitting its 25th year, more celebratory releases are likely coming soon!
