The McMurtry Spéirling, an electric single-seater with record-breaking performance, is finally preparing to reach customers, a full decade after the company was founded by the late Sir David McMurtry.
Known for its astonishing acceleration and aerodynamic efficiency, the Spéirling has turned heads on global tracks and now UK enthusiasts will soon witness it in the flesh.
Deliveries will begin from McMurtry’s new 2,700-square-metre factory in Wootton under Edge, built to accommodate production of this million-pound machine.
Thousands of test miles have already proven the car’s capabilities, while the original Swinhay House facility will expand as McMurtry Technology, focusing on the engineering innovations behind the Spéirling.
The company has secured 22 patents covering areas like Downforce on Demand, high-performance electric powertrains, advanced battery technology, lightweight construction, and vehicle software.
Beyond the Spéirling itself, these breakthroughs are now being offered to other OEMs, signalling McMurtry’s growing influence in the electric vehicle and motorsport sectors.
