2026 Porsche Macan GTS Electric Review: The Sweet Spot for EV Performance

The Porsche Macan GTS Electric stakes its claim as the EV sweet spot in the Macan range, blending high-speed capability with everyday usability.

With 571hp on overboost and a 95kWh battery, this is a performance SUV that promises to deliver thrills without compromising refinement.

Porsche has clearly honed the GTS formula here. Its trio of electric motors, including a beefier rear unit, distinguishes it from the 4S while stopping short of the Turbo’s 639hp.

Standard self-levelling air suspension and a 10mm lower ride height give it a more dynamic stance, while optional 22-inch RS Spyder alloys add visual punch.

Inside, the Macan remains unmistakably Porsche, with Race-Tex surfaces, 18-way sports seats, and a GT Sports steering wheel delivering a tactile, sporty feel.

Screens are integrated neatly, keeping the cabin uncluttered, while a full-width passenger display offers optional entertainment.

Driving the GTS is an exercise in effortless acceleration and composure. Cornering feels cohesive, aided by standard rear-wheel steering, while brakes and chassis tuning instil confidence at speed.

The ride strikes a rare balance: supple enough for UK roads yet capable of handling spirited runs with poise. Compared to the Taycan, the GTS Electric may not match its razor-sharp cornering, but it offers a similarly harmonious driving experience for a family-sized EV.

Performance isn’t the only consideration. With all Macan Electric trims sharing the 95kWh battery and a WLTP range of 363 miles, the choice largely comes down to price: the GTS undercuts the Turbo by £8,500 yet commands a £11,900 premium over the 4S.

Yet on the road, the GTS’s blend of power, handling, and refinement justifies the spend, offering the Porsche enthusiast a genuinely engaging EV option that honours the Macan legacy.
