You might assume a £2 million limited-run Ferrari would be left well alone. Novitec clearly disagrees. The German tuner has turned its attention to the Ferrari Daytona SP3, despite fewer than 600 examples leaving Maranello.
Unlike its usual wide-ranging conversions, Novitec has taken a restrained approach. The bodywork remains untouched, aside from a set of Vossen wheels, and the focus falls squarely on the exhaust system.
It’s a logical target. Owners are unlikely to alter the SP3’s dramatic Icona-series styling, but liberating more sound and performance from its naturally aspirated V12 is another matter entirely.

At the heart of the car sits Ferrari’s 6.5-litre F140 V12, mounted midships and producing 840hp without hybrid assistance.
In an era where even the LaFerrari successor has adopted a hybrid twin-turbo V6, the SP3 already feels like a deliberate throwback.
Novitec’s system, fully thermally insulated and fitted with metal catalysts, has been recalibrated to release an additional 28hp. The headline gain may look modest, yet the real transformation appears acoustic.
With the exhaust flaps open, the car delivers a sharper, more overtly motorsport-inspired note, especially at high revs.
For those who want further personalisation, Novitec will also retrim the cabin in Alcantara or leather to almost any specification.

Whether many Daytona SP3 owners will stray from factory originality remains to be seen.
Still, for buyers who see their cars as more than static investments, amplifying the voice of one of the last great non-hybrid Ferrari V12s may prove hard to resist.
