Gordon Murray’s craziest track-only supercar is good to go! The Gordon Murray T.50s Niki Lauda nailed its final test, so they’re planning to build all 25 cars for customers in 2026.
This isn’t just any old car. With 772hp and a crazy 12,000rpm redline, they needed to do more than a simple test drive.
Dario Franchitti took this super light track beast to the Bahrain International Circuit and ripped off a 1:53.303 lap at night.
That’s seriously fast! It’s even faster than the Porsche Carrera Cup record for that track and beats GT3 cars like the McLaren 720S GT3.

Even the Maserati MC12 GT1, which used to rule the track, only managed a 1:56.478 back then.
Those numbers show how wild the T.50s is. It hit 184mph on the Bahrain track and pulled 2.7G in the turns and up to 3G when braking. Get this – it’s almost as good as modern race cars! A Porsche 963 did a 1:51.016 lap in 2023.
Gordon Murray Automotive says this Bahrain trip wraps up a long time of making the car just perfect.

Compared to the street version T.50, this track version has a special racing gearbox, way better aero that makes up to 1,200kg of downforce, and it’s lighter overall.
Franchitti, who worked on making the car better, says it’s the most exciting ride ever.
Each car will have a name that ties into one of Murray’s first 25 Formula One wins, so every T.50s Niki Lauda will not only be fast but unique.
