TECHART has unveiled the GTclassic, a new take on the classic Porsche 911 that combines preserved retro proportions with modern engineering, craftsmanship and performance.
Built around an air-cooled 3.8-litre naturally aspirated engine, the GTclassic produces up to 380 PS (279 kW) in its most powerful specification. TECHART says the project is not about chasing a single headline figure, but creating a cohesive driving experience through the engine, suspension, brakes and mounting systems.
The design deliberately retains the character of the classic 911 rather than attempting to modernise its silhouette completely. At the front, newly developed one-piece indicators incorporate the air intake, while modern LED headlights feature a distinctive daytime-running-light signature. Champagne-coloured trim is hand-finished and runs from the front of the car through to the rear.
At the back, a TECHART ducktail spoiler incorporates two air vents and gives the GTclassic a distinctive profile. One-piece LED rear lights add contemporary lighting technology without losing the car’s traditional appearance.
The retro theme continues underneath the arches with a set of bespoke 18-inch TECHART Retrosport forged wheels, inspired by the iconic Fuchs design. The two-piece wheels feature a dual-paint finish and custom badges, while additional openings help cool the brakes and expose the turbo brake system. They measure 8.5 x 18 inches at the front and 10 x 18 inches at the rear.
TECHART has also focused heavily on the mechanical package. A high-performance suspension, turbo brake system and motorsport engine mounts have been developed to work with the naturally aspirated engine, with the aim of delivering sharper responses and a more direct connection between driver and car.
Inside, the GTclassic blends traditional materials with discreet modern technology. A handcrafted leather interior can be paired with Clubsport seats and a personalised instrument cluster, while a Chrono Package featuring Hanhart stopwatches provides analogue lap-time measurement.
Modern features including Apple CarPlay, navigation and Bluetooth are integrated through the Porsche Classic Radio rather than dominating the cabin. A hi-fi system and ambient lighting complete the interior.
For TECHART, the GTclassic represents a significant departure from its usual approach. After almost four decades of modifying Porsche models, the company is now applying its expertise to a classic-era icon while deliberately preserving the character that made the original so desirable.
