Aston Martin Valhalla Spider Revealed With 1,064bhp and 217mph Top Speed

Aston Martin has revealed the new Valhalla Spider, an open-top version of its mid-engined hybrid supercar with 1,064bhp and a claimed top speed of 217mph.

It’s also the fastest convertible Aston Martin has ever built, and despite the enormous performance figures, the company says there are still a few examples available to order.

The Valhalla Spider shares its carbon-fibre construction and hybrid powertrain with the coupé, although the structure has been modified to accommodate the removable roof.

Power comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 working alongside three electric motors. Two drive the front axle, while a third is integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. A 6.1kWh battery supplies the electrical side of the system.

Together, they produce 1,064bhp and 811lb ft of torque, giving the Spider a claimed 0–62mph time of just 2.5 seconds.

And if you’re wondering whether removing the roof affects its outright speed, Aston Martin says the Spider can still reach 217mph with the roof off.

There is one unusual detail, though. The standard removable fabric roof is only rated for speeds up to 124mph when fitted. Buyers wanting to travel faster with a roof above their heads will need the optional carbon-fibre hardtop.

The Spider also gets revised active aerodynamics, a wind deflector and updated electronic stability control settings to account for its open-top design. An air intake snorkel remains part of the car’s distinctive appearance.

Inside, Aston Martin has fitted its new Touring Seat as standard, offering a more comfortable alternative to the coupé’s carbon-fibre seats. Those lighter, more focused seats are still available as a no-cost option.

The rest of the package remains closely related to the Valhalla coupé, including its Formula 1-inspired technology, driving modes and advanced vehicle control systems.

Aston Martin expects around a quarter of Valhalla sales to come from the Spider, with most of the planned allocation already spoken for.

Official UK pricing hasn’t been confirmed in the supplied report, although Top Gear estimates the Spider could cost upwards of £1.3 million.

For buyers lucky enough to secure one, the Valhalla Spider offers the same extraordinary performance as the coupé, only with considerably more fresh air.
