Ferrari Luce Interior Revealed as EV Era Enters New Territory

Ferrari has lifted the curtain on the interior of its first all-electric car, now officially named Luce, and the significance goes far beyond another cabin reveal.

This is the moment the Prancing Horse brings one of the most influential designers of the modern era into its electric future.

Created in collaboration with Sir Jony Ive and his LoveFrom collective, the Luce interior marks phase two of Ferrari’s carefully staged EV launch.

While the exterior remains under wraps until May, the cockpit already signals a decisive shift in how Ferrari approaches human-machine interaction.

The philosophy is clear: driving comes first, technology follows. A compact binnacle and steering wheel form the core interface, supported by physical, mechanical controls rather than touchscreen overload.

Ferrari’s engineers worked closely with LoveFrom to validate every assumption, ensuring usability matched ambition.

Materials play an equally central role. Anodised aluminium dominates, precision-machined from solid billets using advanced CNC techniques, with tolerances measured in fractions of millimetres.

Plastic is conspicuously absent. The 12.86-inch instrument display blends physical needles with OLED technology supplied by Samsung, delivering deep contrast and a layered, almost three-dimensional effect inspired by classic Veglia and Jaeger dials.

The steering wheel itself is formed from a bespoke recycled aluminium alloy, housing tactile controls that manage the Luce’s 1,000bhp-plus electric powertrain and chassis systems.

Elsewhere, aviation influences appear throughout, from overhead switches to a pivoting 10.12-inch central screen designed for driver or passenger use.

Even the glasswork has been rethought, with Apple supplier Corning developing bespoke treatments for Ferrari.

Pricing remains unconfirmed, but with engineering, design and interface aligned so meticulously, the Luce already feels like a generational moment.

Ferrari hasn’t simply built an electric car; it has redefined what an electric Ferrari should feel like.
