Here’s something you don’t see every day. A genuine Ford Performance development car is heading to auction on Bring a Trailer.
This 2016 Ford GT, later converted to GT Mk II specification, served as one of two factory mules used to develop the track-only monster unveiled at Goodwood in 2019.
Built originally as a road car on 17 August 2016, it was transformed by Ford Performance into pre-production Mk II spec before supporting the model’s launch programme.

Finished in a multi-tone matte blue and white livery with a dark blue centre stripe, it sits on 19-inch forged alloys wrapped in Michelin slicks and features a comprehensive aero overhaul.
The redesigned splitter and diffuser, dive planes and towering dual-element rear wing helped the GT Mk II generate more than four times the downforce of the standard car.

Under the carbon-fibre clamshell lies a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6, factory rated at 700hp in Mk II trim, paired with a Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle.
Multimatic DSSV dampers replace the standard suspension, while Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes handle stopping duties.
Inside, it’s pure circuit theatre: fixed-back Sparco race seats with harnesses, an FIA-compliant roll cage, Lifeline fire suppression and a MoTeC data system. The digital dash shows 16,000 miles.

Now offered by a Newport Beach dealer on a bill of sale, this ex–Ford Heritage Fleet car represents a rare opportunity to own a pivotal piece of modern GT history — and it’s live on Bring a Trailer.
