Karma has revealed the Eximius 1, a bespoke four-seat hybrid developed for track use with a 6.2-litre V8 and nearly 1,200hp. It introduces the American manufacturer’s new Eximius commissioning programme, which lets customers request changes to bodywork, performance and powertrains.
Unveiled at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas on 31 October, the car remains under development for an unnamed customer. Delivery is planned for 2027, with Karma claiming 0–60mph in 2.7 seconds and estimating a top speed above 200mph. Those figures have not been independently verified.
A V8 With a Different Job
The most interesting detail is what the engine does. In this plug-in series hybrid, the V8 generates electricity rather than driving the wheels through a conventional mechanical transmission.
Karma’s technical overview describes a system combining the engine with an axial-flux generator and a high-output battery. Electric propulsion provides the driving force, giving the Eximius 1 a different layout from a conventional V8 performance saloon.
The distinction matters: the headline output describes the hybrid system, rather than the petrol engine alone. Karma lists approximately 1,200hp for the complete package.
Wider Bodywork and Track-Focused Hardware

Wheelarch extensions increase the car’s width by 50mm, while 21-inch magnesium centre-lock wheels sit beneath the extensively revised bodywork. Carbon-ceramic braking hardware and Öhlins semi-active suspension are also specified.
A substantial front splitter, wheelarch vents, rear diffuser and full-width wing give the car its track-focused appearance. Exposed carbon fibre transitions into Borealis Blue paint across sections of the bonnet and front doors.
The number five displayed on the bodywork has personal significance to the commissioning customer, although Karma has not explained its meaning.

Inside, carbon-fibre Recaro front seats use contrasting blue and Moondust upholstery. The carbon-fibre treatment continues across the dashboard, steering wheel and doors, while a dedicated rear-console mount secures a helmet made to fit the owner.
Despite the racing equipment, the Eximius 1 retains four seats. That combination gives it an unusual brief: a highly personalised track car with accommodation beyond the usual two-seat layout.
The Eximius announcement positions the programme beyond Karma’s existing Studio personalisation options. Customers can work directly with its designers and engineers on individual commissions.
Pricing was not disclosed in the announcement, which also does not establish UK road approval for the Eximius 1.
