Jaguar’s all-electric GT is starting to silence its skeptics, and early drives in sub-zero Sweden hint at a grand tourer that’s more than just a numbers game.
Behind the camouflage of the prototypes, the tri-motor EV delivers over 1,000hp and a staggering 1,300Nm of torque, paired with a circa 120kWh battery promising up to 430 miles of range.
Charging is equally rapid: 200 miles can be replenished in under 15 minutes via the 800-volt system.
At 5.2 metres long and 1.4 metres high, the GT prioritizes balance and poise over straight-line theatrics.
Jaguar engineers have achieved a perfect 50:50 weight distribution, with four battery packs carefully positioned low in the chassis.
The result is a car that manages 2.75 tonnes with surprising agility, aided by two-stage air suspension, rear- and all-wheel steering, and torque vectoring systems that make snow and ice feel trivial. “It’s effortless, but unmistakably Jaguar,” says dynamic boss Matt Becker.
Inside, the cabin hints at the concept’s design, with a sweeping digital cluster and central spine, while a low roofline and F-Type-inspired seating create an intimate, focused environment.
Outside, the GT demonstrates remarkable composure even on frozen lakes, handling power surges with precision and confidence.
With a targeted top speed of 155mph and a starting price between £120,000 and £150,000, the GT promises to compete with high-end EVs while retaining classic Jaguar character.
Jaguar’s electric GT isn’t just a technical showcase; it’s a glimpse at the brand’s revival, blending heritage, comfort, and modern EV performance.
