Clarkson Backs New Grand Tour Hosts as Show Returns

Jeremy Clarkson thinks The Grand Tour will do just fine, even with a new set of hosts. Amazon just announced who will be fronting the next series of the car show.

Clarkson, speaking from his Diddly Squat Farm on the My Week in Cars podcast, shared that he’s sure the new team can keep the show going strong.

Thomas Holland and James Engelsman, who you might know from their YouTube channel Throttle House, are taking the lead.

Joining them is Francis Bourgeois, who’s gone viral for his love of trains and who also knows a thing or two about cars.

These three will be hosting a six-part series on Amazon Prime Video. The show will take viewers all over the world.

They’re planning some wild stuff, like driving across the Angolan desert in sports cars, checking out Malaysia’s car culture, and putting the newest American performance cars to the test in California.

Clarkson mentioned that making the show was always tougher than it looked. He also talked about how it’s gotten harder to do some of their big international road trips because of travel restrictions and what’s going on in the world.

In the past, they’d film in places like Iran, Syria, and Ukraine – spots that are now way too difficult or unsafe to visit.

Even with all that, Clarkson is still positive about the show’s future. He’s seen some early clips of the new hosts and said it looks very, very good.

He knows it’ll feel different with a new group, but he thinks they have good chemistry and humour, which should keep the show going.

During the podcast, Clarkson also chatted about how much he loves gas-powered cars. He said if he could own any car, it would be the Lexus LFA.

For those who miss Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, this next series will be a change. But Clarkson seems to believe that The Grand Tour still has a lot of life left in it.
